Prolieve^® System

Physician Discoveries provides urologists with the Prolieve^® System to treat the symptoms of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). The Prolieve System is a dual-action thermodilatation technology that heats the prostate while also dilating the prostatic urethra.

The Prolieve^® System improves urine flow by using microwave heat to reduce the prostate tissue, and a balloon within the catheter expands to dilate the urethra. Patients tolerate this procedure well and usually do not require post-treatment catheterization. The procedure takes less than one hour, and patients typically experience quick recovery times.

Physician Discoveries’ nurses are ACLS trained and have completed over 1,500 procedures. These nurses provide assistance to the physician during the treatment, which allows the practices’ own nursing staff to continue its daily schedule uninterrupted.

Physician Discoveries provides all equipment and supplies necessary to perform the procedure. We also provide a BPH information packet that includes: treatment instructions, treatment checklist, patient information form, consent form, pre-treatment patient instructions, post-treatment patient instructions, and post-catheterization instructions.
